Glossybox March 2015

Have you ever had a day when you had a list of a gazillion things to do but you ended up cozying up with a cup of coffee watching TV series marathons? If you have, raise your hand and join the club. I've been turning into a couch potato the last couple of days, but there is always one thing that will get me up in a jiffy. That is a knock on when I'm expecting one of my boxes. And guess what? My Glossybox just arrived!

We've now taken a firm step into spring, meaning shorter dresses, floral patterns, light scents and bright pastel coloured nails. It's also the time when we have to start thinking of SPF included in our skincare regime and an all together fresh start, as we move from winter to spring make up trends and products. Glossybox made sure to cover the most imminent needs of our hair, lips, skin, nails and lashes this month, with four full size products and a sample.

  • Naobay Moisturizing Peeling: Can I just start by saying how much I really like Naobay? A Spanish beauty eco-brand that doesn't only give us great quality products but also has such minimally beautiful packaging, with its wooden cap bringing it up a notch in my eyes. Not so long ago I purchased their Toner and I've been more than satisfied, so when I received this Moisturizing Peeling in my box I was ecstatic. I have to admit though, the surprise would have been better if this wasn't Glossybox's Sneak Peek Alert item last month. Still, I can't wait to give it a try! This is the first of the four full size products I got and my favourite as well, 100ml retail for £13.71.

  • ncLA  Nail Lacquer in "Santa Monica Shore Thing": It's all about neon pastels and 70's boho chic this spring, so a bright minty green nail polish was more than welcome (green is my fave colour also). I've never had a ncLA polish before, but I fell in love with the colour so I put it on straight away and let me tell you, it dried up SO fast, plus the colour payoff is great, no need for a second layer! Let's hope it's not going to chip after the first few hours. *Update, it lasted a whopping 14 hour shift at work without the slightest chip!* Second full size, 15ml cost £13.
  • Dove Advanced Hair Series Youthful Vitality Shampoo & Conditioner: I really should consider these two separate products, upping the total count of March's Glossybox to six rather than five items, right? Anyhow. It was about time hair products targeting ageing hair, whether from actual aging or extensive growth, to make their appearance in the market. Hair becomes weaker and prone to breakage, so a shampoo & conditioner combo that works to replenish lost nutrients is definitely the way to go. Both lightweight and with a very pleasant scent, the two 50ml samples received are the perfect travel size companions, but I will make sure to test them before they enter the travel beauty bag covenant. Full sizes are 250ml and retail for £5.99 each.

  • Essence Lash Princess Volume Mascara: Essence is a budget brand I've been familiar with for over a decade, it being widespread in Greece. I've always enjoyed their eyeshadows but I do believe they're lacking on the mascara front and this one is no exception. Although the wand makes a difference to the application, I still find the formula way too gloopy for my tastes. At least the packaging is super cute. Retails for £3.3o.

  • Carmex Moisture Plus Ultra Hydrating Lip Balm in "Berry": Here comes a product a very good friend of mine uses and had recommended I get my hands on but I kept forgetting about until it arrived in my box today. I've been using the original Carmex balm in the yellow pot and have been very happy with it so far, but trying this one is something else altogether. It doesn't simply keep my lips moisturised thanks to its vitamin E, aloe vera and shea butter ingredients, but also has SPF15 and leaves a beautiful sheer berry colour behind, making them look healthier and plumper. New handbag favourite! Last full size product, it retails for £4.49.

Next month will come to be an exciting one for Glossybox, as the collector's edition boxes are coming back, this time tapping into a golden era that still defines beauty today. I can't wait to find out which era they've picked, but if I was to make an educated guess I would say the 50's. We'll have to wait and see I guess!

Until next month,
