Glossybox November 2014

Is it just me who feels that time is flying by? Where did autumn go? Why do I see Christmas decorations up already? *shocked face* I'm not complaining here, it's just that I feel like I didn't have time to pamper myself at all since November came, so what best if not to give the products I received with this month's Glossybox a try?

First thing's first, November's Glossybox is once again back to its usual pale pink colour (no theme boxes this month) but not back to the actual glossy finish. This box is the same as August, a bit more square and with a matte finish. Allow me to like this type of box more than the actual "glossy" one, I think it looks better and is easier to display, subtler and more elegant.

There were five products in the box, two of them full size and they covered everything, from skincare to make-up to hair care. Let's go see them one by one.

  • H2O+ Face Oasis Hydrating Treatment: One of two skincare products, this one premieres this month for Glossybox. Most people's skin suffers during the cold months from the lack of natural hydration, so having a good moisturizer is a must. This oil-free gel promises to deliver deep hydration while at the same time minimise the appearance of fine lines. It has a refreshing marine smell and is absorbed really quickly. Now I have oily skin, which rarely gets dry, but I will give this a go because I have a feeling it will be perfect to use after a clay mask as a cooling agent. My sample is 8ml but you can find the full size 50ml product at Marks&Spencer stores for £27.50.

  • MONU Skincare Refining Capri Facial Oil: Can I just say I'm excited about this product? I've been wanting to try this one in particular since I've read from another beauty blogger about its apparently magical ability to balance oily skin and decongest pores. If this oil helps balance my natural oils and keep breakouts at bay then I'll be over the moon! It contains camphor, grape seed and citrus oils and I have to admit, it doesn't smell nice at all, but beauty requires sacrifices, right? The bottle I received is 30ml when the full size is 100ml, so I consider it a luxe sample. Retails for £26.

  • LOLLIPOPS Make up Eye Pencil in 701 "Goodbye Moon": Moving from skincare products to make-up and this retractable black kohl pencil that contains vitamin E. Its description says it has anti-ageing and anti-radical action, but I'm finding it hard to believe. It's really pigmented, matte opaque black that blends easily, but I don't know yet if it's long lasting and/or if it smudges at all. This is one of the two full size products of the box, with a price tag of €14.

  • Burt's Bees Lip Shine in 060 "Smooch": Before I say anything else, I have to state that I'm not at all a fan of lip glosses. That being said, although I do like the fact that Burt's Bees products are made of natural ingredients, I can't be excited with this gloss. Dark berry in colour, it applies sheer and is enriched with apricot wax for extra shine. The second of the full size products, it retails for £6.99.

  • OGX Argan Oil of Morocco Shampoo: Another Glossybox premiere and the last of five products of this month's box is this argan oil shampoo. To be honest I won't be using this, not because I don't like the idea it serves, but because I already have another argan oil shampoo that I'm using in conjunction with a shampoo that prevents coloured hair from fading. It smells amazing, which means I will be saving this sample for future trips. It's also a very affordable shampoo, since 385ml retail for only £3 (my sample is 88.7ml).

This month was special for Glossybox because they collaborated with Harvey Nichols for a Limited Edition Christmas box. I really wanted to get my hands on one of those, as they were featuring products from Nars, Benefit, Laura Mercier and more, but unfortunately they went on sale when I was at work and by the time I took my lunch break and logged to my account to order it they had already sold out. The price of the box was £30 but contained items worth minimum £150, so I'm really disappointed I couldn't get one in time.

Of course, similarly to the two previous months, we get to have a sneak peek into next month's box. The product revealed, that will be in every single December box, is a Cheek and Lip Stain from the brand Bellápierre in a coral shade, worth £12.99. I'm quite excited about this, because if I judge based on the red lipstick I got with my July box, the quality of the products is shockingly good!

And that's all for November's Glossybox! Personally I believe they paid more attention to their special edition box this month rather than the normal subscription, but I'm still over the moon for receiving the MONU facial oil, so no complaints from this lady over here! Did you like the contents of the box? What did you receive in yours? Share your thoughts!

Until next time,
